New for 2010! Avenger w/750 EFI Kohler Aegis Engine and NEW Admiral 3 differential transmission. New transmission improves steering and reduces power loss during maneuvering.
This is the vehicle used by our owners to evaluate and demonstrate the new HDi in snow conditions this winter. All operation has been on snow. All operation was by the owner of Points West Argo, Inc.

My name is Tom Tomlinson. I am the owner and CEO of Points West Argo, Inc. in Yuba City, CA. I have been an ARGO distributor and dealer since 1986. In the fall of 2009, we got word that Argo was coming out with a new transmission in the Avenger EFI. There were to be some other minor changes in the EFI, but the big change was to be the new "Admiral" transmission.
My wife and I spend most weekends at a mountain property in Sierra County. In past years we have not used the property in the winter. In 2008 we heard about locals ice fishing in the lakes of the Lakes Basin Recreation Area in Tahoe National Forest. We decided last winter to spend some weekends ice fishing in the lakes. We outfitted a 2009 Avenger EFI with a winch and handrails and headed out on the lakes fishing. After about 6 or 7 trips last winter, we were hooked.
In October of 2009 we received our first 2010 Avenger HDi units. When the lakes began to freeze over, we parked our ATVs and headed to Sierra County with our new Avenger HDi.
One minute off the trailer, I could tell a huge difference in the performance of the HDi. The 3 differential "Admiral Transmission" turns effortlessly! There is none of the speed loss while turning that we have gotten used to over the years with Argo's differential steering. The steering brake discs are no longer directly powering the wheels, as there are no idler shafts. The output shafts are enclosed in the transmission case out to the drive sprocket in the chainway. The turning brake discs are mounted on the exterior of the transmission case, and have no sprockets on them. I believe they are running much faster than they did on the old transmission. Whatever they did, the results are absolutely phenomenal. This is the best steering, best handling, best performing Argo ever by a factor of 10! That is saying a lot for me, because I have been selling Argo vehicles for 24 years!
